Spiral Wave Embroidery on ladyfit Navy V-neck

This is our Spiral Wave embroidery on a ladyfit Navy V-neck T-shirt  (PL0045).

Pink and turquoise interlocking spirals sweep elegantly across the shirt in a classic S-curve that compliments the figure.

We created this embroidery design whilst playing with the construction of Celtic spiral designs.

As an embroidery its a simple looking satin stitch but there are some hidden underlay tricks involved to prevent the fabric moving around too much and to reduce machine stop-starts. One of the problems with large designs is hooping across neck openings, and loosing support of the fabric. On this embroidery we start by placing a temporary running stitch that sits between the main design and the neck opening, pinning the fabric to the backing, then after embroidery we remove the support stitch.
